• Course Description
• This Minecraft course introduces students to core computer programming concepts and computational thinking skills using Minecraft Education Edition. It builds on the popularity of Minecraft and the attraction it has for the young generations.
• This course promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive environment, where students can explore concepts, such as block programming, variables, and loops.
• The course has 3 levels. In the first two levels, the student will be using block programming, while in the 3rd level they will use Python to define the behavior of their designed worlds.
• Course Objectives
• The student will learn about the following:
• How to use the Minecraft programming environment.
• Creating their own characters; including their shape, costume, etc.
• Creating their own world; including trees, homes, farms, etc.
• Interaction between characters and their surroundings.
• Visual programming concepts, such as loops, conditions, … to control their characters.
• In the advanced level, they will learn about using Python.
